What do I need to get started?
A CAD file, a drawing, or a photo of the part with its measurements. A dimensioned hand sketch works, too. Tell us how many you need; the assistant will ask for the remaining details.
What can I ask the assistant?
Anything about your part. It reads STEP and DXF files, PDF drawings, and photos, explains materials, finishes, and tolerances in plain words, and suggests what fits the way your part is used. It never picks a specification without your OK, and your price updates in the chat when you change the quantity or finish. When something needs a person, the Easy Source team reviews it and replies in the same chat.
Where are my parts made?
Overseas, by manufacturing partners Easy Source works with. That is what keeps the price down. Easy Source is the seller: you get one fixed price, pay Easy Source, and deal only with us. Supplier details stay private.
How can it cost less than a US shop?
On production runs, machining overseas often costs much less than in the US, even after shipping and import duties, and your delivered price already includes both. For one or two pieces, a local shop is usually the better deal.
What does it cost?
Quotes are free. With a STEP file, your price appears in the chat as soon as the material, finish, quantity, and ship-to address are set: a price per part, plus shipping and import duties on their own line, and the total delivered to your door. Every order is delivered. To order, pay a 50% deposit; the other 50% is due when your parts are ready to ship.
Which files can I send?
STEP or STP files get an instant quote, one part per file, and so does a DXF of a sheet metal part once you tell us the sheet thickness. Need an assembly? Send it over and we’ll quote it. IGES, STL, PDF drawings, and photos work too; those are quoted after review. Include dimensions and units when they are not already in the file.
How long does it take?
Most STEP files and sheet metal DXF files are priced instantly. Drawings, photos, and unusual parts are quoted after review, typically within a few days to two weeks. Production takes 4 weeks from your deposit, then shipping; your price shows how long shipping takes.
How are my files used?
Easy Source uses your files to understand your part, price it, and have it made. Our manufacturing partners get the drawings and files they need to quote and make your parts.
Can you source plastic or electronic parts?
Easy Source currently focuses on custom metal parts: CNC machining, turning, and sheet-metal fabrication. Plastics, rubber, wood, composites, and electronics are not supported yet.
